Allergan Pharmaceuticals through their distributors Genop Healthcare recently launched GANFORT Eye Drops. GANFORT Eye Drops contain bimatoprost 0.3 mg/ml and timolol maleate equivalent to 5 mg/ml timolol and is indicated for reduction of intra-ocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to a topical beta-blocker or prostaglandin analogues given alone.
The two active substances rapidly decrease elevated intra-ocular pressure (IOP) through complementary mechanisms of action. The combined effect results in additional IOP reduction compared to either compound administered alone.
